The Autism Academy UK (TAAUK) is a new community organisation that has been designed to support the health and well-being needs of the autistic community.
Over the course of the next few months we will be designing their brand, designing, building and hosting a responsive website tailored towards the needs of autistic users and driven by the content management system Umbraco, providing them with domain name and email management, and designing and printing their business and promotional material.
The first part of this journey was to design their logo. As with each client we offer design services to, we ask them to complete a design brief in order to capture any ideas they have as to how they think things should look. TAAUK were great in this respect, providing us with a preferred colour scheme to work from and a series of words they hoped to have symbolised within their logo. As you can see from the finished article we have used a book to illustrate wisdom, learning and education, hands to symbolise compassion and kindness, plant shoots for growth, development and flexibility and people to not only symbolise strength but also to encompass the holistic and positively inclusive element TAAUK wish to promote.
